Teeny's Gonna Have a Teeny Weeny Teeny

Ever drive by a huge home and see it's garage, shed, or guest house and think, "Wow, that's cute, I'd rather live there than in the mansion?" I have. I think tiny houses are the cutest things. I want one, or maybe two, one to live in and one for all of my clothes and makeup. Well, seems like I'm not the only one with this teeny weeny house crush. Architects are designing small homes again. But these are not just small homes, they are tiny homes.

The Tumbleweed Tiny House Company sells floor plans for tiny homes. They have a great selection of different styles and sizes, with lots of character and charm.

(Above)The "Sebastarosa" home features 2 bedrooms, a walk-in closet, and 1 1/2 baths all with-in 681 square feet. This plan also allows the option to add a third bedroom off of the kitchen on the main floor.

(Below)The 297 square foot "Harbinger" model also has plenty of closet space and even a small sitting room.

The average size house in America is about 2500 square feet.

Why live in such a small space? Some homeowners do not want to maintain large homes or pay enormous energy bills. Others are interested in living a more simple life. Many tiny home communities are popping up across the country and there are many websites and even blogs dedicated to the tiny house movement:

Kent Griswold's Tiny House Blog
Michael Janzen's Tiny House Design
Steven Kurutz's article The Next Little Thing

I might need 3.
