Back from the City

We're back.  We had a much better time in NYC than this past Fall.  We took our time, took more cabs, and ate a lot of great food.  I didn't pop into any home decor shops - the BF isn't into shopping...but we did see some great things.  Saturday night (amidst the craziness of the bomb scare in Time Square) we scored first row seats at A Behanding in Spokane, a dark and hilarious comedy starring Christopher Walken.  Took a stroll through Bryant Park (right) and Madison Ave.  We had beautiful, warm weather which made for slower walking.  We also attended Peter Gabriel's concert at Radio City on Sunday night.  The orchestra was amazing.

We made it over to Central Park and took a stroll through the zoo...

Sea lions, a red panda, a HUGE polar bear, and exotic tropical birds...

We saw some great architecture...

And boy did we eat!  We had a great brunch at Bar Americain...(no Bobby Flay sightings).  You must go there and try the hot potato chips with blue cheese dip.  We grabbed delicious, juicy, huge, and expensive burgers at Five Napkin Burger.  In the West Village we ate at a tiny, very quaint restaurant called Risottoria.  FYI, they have a large glucose free menu, tons of risotto, salads, and panini.  I had the most delicous ceasar salad with thin, sliced roasted chicken and the BF got a sausage panini that looked yummy.  We ate brunch outside at Dos Caminos where I devoured a breakfast quesadilla filled with scrambled egg and bacon.  And we even managed to squeeze in a little Thai at Chef's Secret.  The pad thai had so much flavor, I could've kept eating but we had the concert that evening.

And while we were in the West Village, (getting cupcakes) we saw the narrowest house in the city.  It's interior is less than 8 1/2 feet wide.  It sold last August for $2.175 million, down a little from the $2.75 asking price.  See some of the interior and the floor plan here.  I wish that van wasn't there - totally ruined the shot.

So that's about it...Now I have to figure out what to do about the 3 pounds I managed to gain over the weekend...

If the van was turned on its back end, standing vertically, it would hide the narrowest apt in NY... Just a little observation! Hehehehehe...
